My Bed! My Biscuit!

I call my bed "The Biscuit."  Getting between two soft sheets and snuggling is like opening the center of the biscuit with the soft warm center....  The sheets have to be cool, soft, and typically white.  I am a little freaky about sheets and no, I don't think you have to spend hundreds on them.  I am a bargain shopper so look high and low for a good quality sheet.  It must not ball or have a weird texture to it.   I recently have a love for Bamboo sheets, for you ladies that sweat at night, they are wonderful.  I carry a line by Kassatex in my store.  I wanted to test them out before selling them, so have been sleeping on them for the last two months. I also wanted to make sure they wash and dry well.  I love them and they come in great colors.   Bamboo is a natural fabric and  "they say"  it is temperature regulated.  If you are hot it allows you to breath and if cold keeps you warm.  I  have noticed that I don't sweat as much,  nice thoughts, that is what getting older brings on.

I also love my  LD All In One bedding line.  Other companies offer a similar product, but no one can customize it like we do.  We offer a ruffle drop, double ruffle drop, box pleat drop,  straight drop....etc.  We can make it in silk, velvet, heavy cotton, linen, and a soft polished cotton.  All of our linens and cottons come pre washed.  Custom drop sizes  are a must today with the different shapes and sizes of beds and mattresses.  I have included a few pictures of our beds.

If you are here in Louisiana, please enjoy the nice cool weather!

Shower Curtains

My love of shower curtains and trying to find a long, tall one began way back in the 90's.  Here are a few of my recent designs.   Some of the styles below were featured in this months "House and Home."

"LuLu" Style 74x90 with a 3 Tiered Ruffle

"PHOEBE" 74x90 White Cotton/Khaki Linen

The evolution of my shower curtain designs....it all began when I starting flying for Delta in 1990 and moved to Dallas.  I was trying to decorate my condo and wanted something taller.  My idea at the time was a 74x108 rectangle table cloth.  I folded it over to make a valance and then pinned it using those drape clamp hooks.  In those days  there wasn't anything ready made that was over 72"  and there isn't now except for those we try to keep in stock at ld.  Here are a few of our styles.  We have some in stock and we can custom design with other fabrics.  Check out the month's "House and Home" magazine featuring our shower curtain designs.

First Official Blog

Welcome to ld linens & decor!  We have so much going on I really don't know where to start.   My husband, Leigh, says quit trying to figure it out and blog....so here goes.

On October 6th we had the Debut Party for Lauren Barksdale Hill's 2012 Calendar.  Here is a picture of the calendar.

It was a huge success.  Below are pics from the night.  I approached her last year at our yearly Fall Art Show with the idea of her doing a calendar.  She is so very talented.  If you don't have one, please stop by the store.  It is a great gift for Moms, Friends, Teachers, etc...  A gift that you can keep giving every year.

October 6th was also the Launch event at ld linens & Decor for Shannon Barksdale Mahon's "Cozi Designs."    Shannon has a great eye for those unique hard to find home items.  She is also carrying different furniture lines and lighting.  She is housed inside ld linens.  She also opened to rave reviews.
A special thanks to Caryn Roland of "Heirloom Cuisine" for providing appetizers for the evening.
